ABOUT ERIMAYUR



Erimayur is a small village in the Palakkad district of Kerala
Chitalimala and Malayapothi are within the vicinity of Erimayur. National Highway 47 (Salem - Kanniyakumari road) passes through Erimayur. Toward Palakkad, the next village is Chithali, and toward Thrissur, the next village is Thrippalur (Erimayur panchayat), and the next village panchayat (town) is Alathur.

Erimayur is also a part of the legendary novel, Khasakkinte Ithihasam by O.V.Vijayan.

There were many rich land owners, called Muthalalis, in the past, but over time the importance and glory of many have diminished, and they are becoming less significant in the history of Erimayur.

Major roads - NH 47, Koottala Road, Cheranaad Road, Padetty Road, Kairampara Road, Pazhaya paatha (parallel to NH), and Vadukathara Road.
